Kathmandu

26.09.2025

A new culture - and the first true sensing of our surroundings. Kathmandu: an ordered, functioning chaos.

Nepalganj

27.09.2025

With the lingering thought of whether everything was truly packed, we stepped into the humidity I have ever felt.

Jufal

28.09.2025

Barely arrived in Nepalganj, we board a flight into the mountains and land on a narrow mountainside airstrip. “Pull up! Terrain!” — those words from the cockpit are still vivid in my memory.

Basecamp

28.09. - 04.10.2025

I feel light and fast — even the jump in altitude from 3,800 meters to 5,000 meters doesn’t affect me.

I feel good.

Dayhikes

05. - 11.10.2025

After asking the mountain for permission during the Puja ceremony, we begin day tours for acclimatization. To conserve energy, I ascend to new subsidiary peaks each day and return to base camp to sleep.

Summit Push

12.10.2025

Now it counts. Our summit window has arrived.

I sleep well at each stage and feel rested.

Summit

14.10.2025

What an experience to stand on the summit of Dhaulagiri VII on my birthday!

After just 30 minutes, I’m already back down on skis in Camp 2.

Dolpa Tal

17.10.2025

Even on the way back, I’m struck by the changing landscape — from brown and arid to lush green oases.

Return journey

22. - 26.10.2025

With countless stories in our baggage, I reflect on what we’ve experienced — and on what still lies ahead.

So many summits and stories are still waiting to be discovered.
